How can you make the customer process in post offices more customer-friendly and efficient? Österreichische Post AG asked itself this question at the beginning of 2013 as part of its new branch concept. Since mid-2013, the customers of all Austrian post offices have benefited from the results of these considerations.

Together with POS Solutions GmbH, Österreichische Post has analyzed the point of sale processes and first started at the package pick-up process for optimization.

After submission of the pick-up slip (“yellow slip”) and a valid identification document (e.g. driver’s license, ID card, passport, etc.), the customer data required by law is read electronically and held until the end of the opposition period in order to act as evidence in the event of any objections. The customer then signs the pick-up receipt digitally.

The benefits of Scan & Sign

Thanks to the savings, the electronic solution pays for itself after just 1.5 years. Scan & Sign is highly valued by both customers and employees of the Post branches.

Internationally, Austrian Post is setting new standards with this process optimization.
